Domestic

Our prices for domestic customers (people’s homes) are considerably less than for commercial premises as pests are easier to eliminate in the domestic environment.

Domestic Pests are constantly looking for a warm place to live and a ready supply of food. That’s where you and your home come in. At some time in your life it’s very likely you will need pest control and here’s why:

RatsAndMice

Target food and cause damage by chewing through packets and eating their contents. This in turn can cause disease and illness as they urinate and defecate in the boxes or packets they get in. They will also chew wood, plastics and other textiles commonly used to make furniture or household chattels just to keep their teeth in good condition.

It is a little known fact that 25% of household fires are caused by rodents chewing through electric wires

Cockroaches

Contaminate food with their bacteria, faeces, saliva and germs from their gut. They can cause a variety of diseases. They not only invade your home but also your body parts. There are several cases of cockroaches entering the ear and nose while sleeping. Small cockroaches can readily enter body orifices if you’re in deep sleep. They also cause food poisoning and trigger allergies. Their allergens can also increase the chance of an asthma attack amongst sufferers.

Fleas

Irritate people by their bites, which they do in order to extract blood from you to feed on. The female consumes 15 times her body weight in blood, which passes through her digestive system and is defecated out onto the skin. These comma-shaped faeces are called flea dirt. The female flea lays her weight in eggs daily, and can lie for over 100 days. One might not regard the flea as particularly dangerous compared to other pests however – it is known that the Black Death was most likely carried by Oriental rat fleas living on the black rats that were regular passengers on merchant ships. Spreading throughout the Mediterranean and Europe, the Black Death is estimated to have killed 30–60% of Europe’s total population. In all, the plague reduced the world population from an estimated 450 million down to 350–375 million in the 14th century. The world population as a whole did not recover to pre-plague levels until the 17th century.

Wasps

The Chav of the insect world. These vicious creatures will attack for the fun of it. The most important thing to know about them is that some people are highly allergic to their sting and can go into anaphylactic shock. This is a serious, potentially life-threatening allergic response that is marked by swelling, hives, lowered blood pressure, and dilated blood vessels. In severe cases, a person will go into shock, which if not treated immediately can be fatal.

Bedbugs

Are a pain in the rear – and anywhere else they bite. Fortunately bedbugs do not spread disease and are in no way related to poor hygiene. They are just incredibly irritating and mentally traumatic as they crawl out at night to pierce your skin, drink your blood and cover you in bite marks.

It’s no use throwing out your bed as many people do, thinking that will get rid of the problem – they live in virtually every nook and cranny around a bedroom.
